Task Force is the National working body that helps for the facilitation of IPv6 adaptation and penetration in Pakistan. Participation is open to government, industry, academia, international organizations, and end users.PKv6TF_Logo2.jpg

The Task Force is an independent, locally self-funded activity associated with leading IPv6 experts, organizations and vendors globally.

The initial proposal of Pakistan IPv6 Task Force was openly presented by Haris Shamsi during SANOG8 (South Asian Network Operators Group) – a working group arranging conferences and tutorial sessions for Networkers Community in South Asia . The Proposal has been accepted unanimously by all the Industry professionals, governmental bodies and representatives of educational institutions.

The activities of IPv6 task force are limited to 6Core Project at the moment, however the roadmap and activities are adapted with the consensus of  an adhoc body. This Body includes the representatives from Industry Professionals & Policy making bodies of Telecom in Pakistan.

Pkv6TF roles include promotion, consultation, a center of technical expertise, white papers, business and marketing support, educational support and guidance on for the adoption and deployment for IPv6.

The Pkv6TF support and drives IPv6 deployment in Pakistan, promotes IPv6 with industry and government, provides a technical and business center of expertise for the deployment of IPv6, provides white papers, briefings, guides and presentations for public consumptions and works with the IP sector of Pakistan to understand the effects of Ipv6 transition within the Market.

The Pkv6TF with its volunteer Organizations (CYBERNET, SUPERNET and DANCOM) developed the idea for 6Core during its work to support the Pakistan Communicational structure to promote, consult and define IPv6 Technology deployment issues and objectives as a Tas Force. The Pkv6TF drives the 6Core Project.

The Pkv6TF is also working with other IPv6 Forum Task Forces around the world to support the adoption and deployment of IPv6 and develops Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) agreements with other geographies and industry forums when it will foster the advancement and deployment of IPv6.
